The Disease Modeling Project aims to: create novel late-onset AD risk alleles; create new combinations of humanized alleles (e.g. APOE4, MAPT) and risk variants; and characterize these novel models at extended ages using translationally relevant assays as shown below. This effort will provide the Preclinical Testing Core with characterized models staged for disease phenotypes. All data and protocols are made available from the AD Knowledge Portal, and all mouse models are made available for both academic and commercial use from The Jackson Laboratory Repository.
